Entrepreneurial couple attracts Olympic rider, tourists and four-legged friends to new family business
Dynamic couple, Andrew and Clare Valender, have combined their own areas of expertise with an existing family business to launch Norton Grounds – a stunning farm estate offering luxury accommodation as well as professional equestrian facilities. The new business has already attracted two new professional riders to the grounds, bringing with them a touch of Olympic flair.
Norton Grounds, based just outside Chipping Campden, offers luxury self-catering accommodation in two beautiful converted barns, and will be providing bed and breakfast in the 18th Century Farmhouse from August 2014. The Valenders are passionate about providing a first class experience for their guests and have been busy constructing a children’s play area and sourcing the highest quality local ingredients for their welcome hampers and cooked breakfasts.
Andrew Valender said: “I am thrilled that Clare and I are able to launch our own business at what has been my family home for generations. We have lots of ideas and exciting plans for the future and we’re looking forward to making Norton Grounds the first choice for people looking for family and dog-friendly accommodation with a touch of luxury.”
Alongside the holiday accommodation, Norton Grounds Equestrian is launching with the arrival of professional rider who will be based at the site alongside Clare Valender’s own yard, Valender Eventing.
Italian Olympic rider, Vittoria Panizzon, has signed a contract which will see her move to a brand new yard, currently being finalised at Norton Grounds.
Professional event rider and partner in Norton Grounds, Clare Valender, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Vittoria to Norton Grounds Equestrian. In addition to our existing facilities, we have ambitious plans which will further improve the range of opportunities we can offer to riders, trainers and other equestrian specialists.”
Norton Grounds Equestrian offers professional facilities including stabling, a 20m x 60m outdoor arena, 20m x 40m grass dressage arena, show jumps, horse walker and access to miles of off road hacking in the Gloucestershire countryside. The professional riders will be providing training clinics and residential camps throughout the year – please visit www.nortongrounds.com/equestrian for details.
